Fall is in the air and so are the melodies of Sidney’s three upcoming music shows.

Mary Winspear Centre and Gee Dan Productions are bringing blues, country and pop music to town.

Get ready to be serenaded by the soulful, two-time Maple Blues Award nominee Jenie Thai as she takes the stage on Thursday, Oct. 12.

With an old-school boogie-woogie style, Thai blends classic R&B with a contemporary edge with tough but tender ballads and fiery house-rockers. Joining her is the award-winning blues artist Miss Emily, who is sure to leave you spellbound with her powerful vocals. Miss Emily walked away with the female vocalist of the year, new artist of the year, and the Sapphire Canadian Blues music video award in February 2020 at the Maple Blues Awards in Toronto.

Next, mark your calendars for Monday, Oct. 23, when Tim Hicks’s Campfire Troubadour Tour 2023 comes to town with special guest Teigen Gayse. Hicks, the Canadian country music singer-songwriter from St. Catharines, Ont., has had eight top-10 hits on the Canadian Country chart since his 2012 debut single “Get By.” The five-time JUNO Award nominee and Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) award winner is set to kick off his nationwide tour in Sidney. Audience members can catch all the swinging melodies at Mary Winspear Centre at 7:30 p.m.

Last but certainly not least, gear up for a thrilling evening with Canadian singer and songwriter Bobby Bazini on Sunday, Oct. 29. With influences from Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, and Ray Charles, Bazini’s made his commercial recording debut in 2009. Taking inspiration for his latest album through the concept of the creation of pearls, he was reminded of a darker time he had just lived through and felt strongly about using this idea for his latest album. Catch him during the Campfire Troubadour Tour, and embark on a music journey at 7:30 p.m.

Blues, country, and pop will all be on the menu for this month’s music mash-ups. Don’t miss out on these tuneful shows - tickets can be purchased for all three events online at marywinspear.ca or through the centre’s box office by calling 250-656-0275.
