Two upcoming shows will have audiences out of their seats and moving in September.
It’s no secret George Canyon loves Sidney after playing more than half a dozen shows at the Mary Winspear Centre. The country music star returns for the seventh time on Tuesday, Sept. 5, bringing his Our Country Tour Part 2 to the Charlie White Theatre at 7:30 p.m.
The Canadian star has won numerous accolades, including Juno and CCMA awards, and has been inducted into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame.
With 12 albums, including his platinum debut album One Good Friend, Canyon’s reach extends beyond the music industry with his numerous roles on the big screen and his charitable endeavours.
Audiences can expect more of what they love from Canyon on stage at the Mary Winspear Centre.
Also landing in Sidney next month is Bowie Forever, a thrilling stage show celebrating the music icon David Bowie. Comprised of talented musicians with a passion for Bowie’s work, the band captures the essence and spirit of his work to bring audiences the ultimate Bowie experience.
The ensemble features Dwaine Kim Andrucko on lead vocals, piano and keyboard, along with Dewie Cook on background vocals, 12-string guitar and bass, while David Dahlberg is on lead guitar and background vocals and Sean Wallbridge rounds out the group on drums.
Each performance spans multiple eras and genres, captivating the audience with renditions of timeless classics and lesser-known gems.
Bowie Forever takes over the Mary Winspear Centre on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
