The Warriors are starting strong with a win over defending Island Champion West Shore Bears to kick off the season. The Peninsula’s Junior B lacrosse team topped the Bears 10-7 in what coaches describe as a “strong performance from all players.”
Defense was led by Greg Simpson and goaltender Dale Meyers, while second-year player Lucas Jacob led scoring with four goals.
Coach Dave Nikula was pleased with the opening performance, but added that it is early in the season and there is still a lot of improvement to come.
The Peninsula Jr. B Warriors are at home this week, with games at Panorama Recreation Centre tonight (May 11) at 7:45 p.m. and again Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
