Home and away, Panthers dominate

Despite being down to three blueliners, the Peninsula Panthers continue their winning ways. Friday night they downed the Oceanside Generals 3 to 2 on home ice at Panorama Recreation Centre.

Despite being down to three blueliners, the Peninsula Panthers continue their winning ways. Friday night they downed the Oceanside Generals 3 to 2 on home ice at Panorama Recreation Centre.

Nick Babich provided solid goaltending earning him third star of the game.

Firepower came from Zach Mazo who scored the game-winner in the third period as well as one in the first. Cole Peterson had three assists and Josh Blumenthall added another in the second to down the Generals.

In yet another battle with a short bench, Peninsula dominated the Campbell River Storm on the road in the Rod Brind’Amour Arena to round out the winning weekend.

The Panthers outshot the Storm 52 to 23 in the one-sided 5 to 1 win.

Scoring for the Panthers came from Trevor Yee, Cole Peterson, Kyle Peterson, Dane Gibson and Evan Campbell.

The next Panthers’ home game is Friday, Feb. 4 when they host a rematch with the Campbell River Storm.

Puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at Panorama Recreation Centre.
