Cartoon didn’t get a laugh from one reader

Your cartoon from Jan. 11 (B.C.’s tough new DUI laws) was mildly funny. Obviously, the cartoonist is from that segment of society that regards tougher enforcement as a cash grab by government. Clearly, she has not yet been impacted (pun intended) by an impaired driver. Lessons have to be learned somehow, if you cannot figure them out for yourself. Maybe one day, the artist will lose someone near and dear to an impaired driver. If that happens, and it may, the next cartoon will not be very funny at all.
