Velma was predeceased by her husband Glen in 2019, sister Mary Hughes Cumberbirch and brother Pat.
She was a proud and devoted mom to Kathie (Malcolm), Norm, Hugh (Nicole) and Jean (Kermit); loving grandma to Jonah, Shevaun, Dylan (Monica), Tess and Fen and great-grandson Glen.
In her 60s, she partnered with an investment firm. She served on the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Board and Auxillary and was a member of the C. Saanich Seniors and the N. Saanich PEO. She loved the LORD and the Elk Lake Baptist family, serving on the building committee and as treasurer and moderator.
A huge Thank You to the wonderful staff at The Summit LTC for their kindness and care since May 2021.
A Celebration of Velma's Life will be held at Elk Lake Baptist on March 16th at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, perhaps a donation to the PEO Scholarship Fund or charity of your choice.
