Sandra, our talented family Matriarch, passed away at Resthaven Lodge in Sidney on May 16th at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born in Ottawa to parents Jack and Kate Jones and moved to Victoria with her family where she attended Victoria High School. As a young mother, she raised her daughters in Gordon Head. She and her husband, Gerald, moved to North Saanich where they built a home and lived for 54 years.
Sandra's passion was embroidery and she was a member of the Victoria Embroidery Guild for many years. She left beautiful works of art for us all to remember her by.
Sandra is survived by her daughters, Christine Penwarn (George), Lea Owens (Rick). Grandchildren, Marlene (Dave) Laura, Sherry, Debbie (Craig), Matt (Amy) and Amy (Dave). Great Grandchildren Taylor, Alexa, Jordyn, Christian, Trevor, Jessica, Chloe, Elsa, Joseph, Sarah, Ryan, Mya and Dawson. Great Great Grandchildren Erich, Violet, Luke, Westley and Hannah. Niece Kerry (Dave). She was pre-deceased by her Husband Gerald in 2023, her Sister Patricia and Grandson Tyler.
The family would like to thank Resthaven staff for their exemplary care with special thanks to Tannis.
