ECKERT, MOLLY MERLE
passed away suddenly after a courageous and graceful battle with
Alzheimer's, on July 7, 2009 in the 46th year she turned 39. Molly was born on Galiano
Island on March 11, 1925, moved to Sidney at the age of 2 and lived on Malaview Avenue for 80 years until her last 2 years at Saanich
Peninsula Hospital. She is predeceased by her parents John (Jack) and Lena (nee Cook) Burdett, sisters Doreen Stainsby and Audrey Hay, and her beloved husband
Anderson Albert (Bungy) Eckert. Her face would light up as she would recall Bungy and her many experiences Gillnet fishing along the West Coast up to Prince Rupert. She is survived by her 6
children, Juanita,
Micheal (Susan), Bonita, Corinne (Murray), James, and Randy
(Donna), 13
grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Molly is also
survived by her sisters Verna Marshall and Cora Deighton and her brother Leslie Burdett & numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Known as the Unsinkable Molly Eckert, she loved books, writing, music and her family and friends. She'll be remembered for her beautiful smile, her infectious laugh, her incredible
graciousness and her singing and yodeling!

Hospital ECU. Molly will be reunited with Bungy at a Family Interment on Saturday, July 25th, at 10:30 am at Hatley
Memorial Gardens and a Celebration of Her Life will be held at St. Paul's United Church Hall on Malaview Ave in Sidney from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm that same day.
