Peninsula celebrates volunteers

National Volunteer Week starts Monday Beacon Community Services honours volunteers, highlights those celebrating milestone years

Friday the 13th was a lucky day for 66 volunteers from across Saanich and the Peninsula as Beacon Community services handed out certificates and flowers to some of their many volunteers today. Volunteers at BCS were recognized for time served from five years to Rene Lapairie's startling 33 years.

National Volunteer Week in Canada starts Monday, April 15.
