North Saanich’s chief administrative officer Tim Tanton has resigned.

In a statement, the district said Tanton has decided to conclude his employment with North Saanich to pursue other opportunities. He will be leaving the position effective June 1.

He joined the district as CAO in January 2019 after spending 20 years working for municipal governments across the region.

“The staff team at North Saanich really is fantastic,” Tanton said in the statement. “I will miss working with these professionals and their wealth of experience, sense of humour and team spirit.”

The director of financial services, Stephanie Munro, has been named acting CAO until a permanent replacement has been named by council. She has worked at the district since 2012.

“We wish Mr. Tanton all the best in his next chapter and thank him for his many years of service to North Saanich,” Mayor Peter Jones said in the same statement.
