Police seek stolen tractor, find improperly stored firearms instead

A Bobcat stolen 18 months ago led Central Saanich police to firearms on June 7.

A man reported his tractor stolen in December 2010 and armed with new information, approached Central Saanich police hoping they could check out a property near Mount Newton X Road and Lochside Drive.

Officers wound up seeking a warrant for a Central Saanich man’s computer in relation to the stolen Bobcat.

While in the residence they spotted improperly stored firearms and subsequently sought a further warrant.
