High winds on the Peninsula created stormy conditions Thursday and forced cancellation of a number of ferry sailings between Swartz Bay and Tsawwassen.
The blustery day created roiling surf along the eastern waterfront, es[ecially along Lochside Drive in Sidney, where onlookers gathered to watch the spectacle of waves crashing over the seawall.
