A pedestrian was struck by a car at Beacon and Resthaven at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
Sidney Fire, two ambulances and Sidney/North Saanich RCMP were at the scene. A woman was loaded onto a stretcher and transported to Saanich Peninsula Hospital by ambulance. She appeared to be conscious and alert when being treated by paramedics.
Traffic cleared quickly and there did not appear to be damage or debris from the vehicles involved.
Cpl. Chris Manseau of Sidney/North Saanich RCMP said a vehicle was making left turn and did not see the pedestrian at the crosswalk. The driver was charged under Motor Vehicle Act for failure to yield to a pedestrian, and was issued a ticket. Manseau said the pedestrian was treated for minor injuries. Speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
