1 man arrested after Victoria carjacking incident

A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle, getting into a crash in Saanich, then fleeing the scene on foot.

On Monday (April 22) before noon, the Victoria Police Department received a report of a carjacking incident on Johnson Street before the suspect and the vehicle were involved in a “motor vehicle incident” on Cedar Hill Road.

According to VicPD, the suspect caused the crash, and drove one block further before getting out of the car at the intersection of Finlayson and Cook streets and taking off on foot.

A suspect was arrested nearby and an investigation is ongoing.
