Do you miss the funk sound from the 1970s? Or perhaps the swinging music from the 1940s? Or do you long to hear your favorite nostalgic hits from the 1990s?

The Time Travel Dance in Sidney has it all.

The ageless dance is kicking off the Summer Reading Club on the North Saanich Library lawn on June 30. DJ Daddy Mack will be spinning classic hits all the way from the 1920s to the present. It is encouraged for dance attendees to wear costumes from any time period.

The local Torque Masters are bringing some of their dream cars from a range of time periods to showcase at the dance.

Other members of the community will be there, such as the Peninsula 1000 x 5 Book Recycling Project and Saanich Peninsula Literacy, whose members will both be handing out free books to get kids started with their summer reading.

Other Summer Reading Club packages and surprises will be handed out by some special guests throughout the event.

The Teen Advisory Group, Sidney, and the North Saanich Library invite the community to their lawn at 10091 Resthaven Dr. at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30 for this blast from the past.
