A Peninsula band and the Town of Sidney are pairing up for a benefit concert to help Parkland secondary students get involved with music.
The Islanders will perform their selection of East Coast and Celtic tunes at a show at the pavillion in Beacon Park for donations to the school’s music program.
“I really believe in supporting the music [program] at Parkland,” said Islanders frontman Phil Turpin. “This town has been good to me. I want to give back with some sound.”
The by-donation concert happens Sunday, June 17 from 2 to 4 p.m. in Beacon Park.
