The North Saanich Repair Cafe and the Sidney/North Saanich Library Teen Advisory Group are teaming up to put on a pop-up Repair Cafe event.
The event is taking place on Saturday (April 29) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sidney/North Saanich branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library.
Volunteer fixers will be on site to help fix broken or damaged items to keep them out of the landfill.
“We’re thrilled to be working with the library and the teen advisory group,” volunteer coordinator Susan McDonald said. “We hope that this event will get people excited about fixing things instead of throwing them away. It’s a perfect way to celebrate Earth Month.”
The volunteers are also looking to share their knowledge and repair skills.
Anyone is welcome to attend and meet people who care about the environment.
Repair Cafe events happen every month at St. John’s United Church in North Saanich and the details can be found at repaircafenorthsaanich.ca.
