Parkland students raise money for Ottawa exchange

High school students hold Christmas tree chipping, metal recycling drive for money

Start the year with a clean up and support youth sports. The Parkland secondary school girls soccer team is fundraising for an exchange with Cairine Wilson secondary school in Ottawa this June. To fundraise for the trip, the team is hosting two events.

The first is a bottle drive and tree chipping on Saturday, Jan. 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parkland school, 10640 McDonald Park Rd. As well, a metal recycling bin will be at the school from Jan. 23 to 27 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. All metal items will be accepted.
