Re: Could little Sidney be a big box town? (PNR Jan. 26).

Having just returned from my daily dog walk around the Vantreight fields, I reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a democratic society. Even better is living next door to a large productive farm.

I’m writing in response to the letter posted Jan. 19 by Eileen Nattrass (BC needs tougher laws).

A few weeks ago I was hoofing my way to work when, through the window of a restaurant, I spotted a friend eating breakfast.

A new organization dedicated to urging politicians to base decisions on sound science is a welcome addition to Greater Victoria.

Sidney Mayor Larry Cross raised a roomful of eyebrows at the Mayors’ Breakfast when he said he had made a recent visit to Langford and liked what he saw. He liked it so much, in fact, that he thinks Sidney should emulate the look to a degree. To make Sidney “sparkle” like Langford.
