Champions roam the halls of Stelly’s secondary after both the junior and senior girls teams topped the Island this season.
The Stelly’s secondary senior girls soccer team played well at the Island tournament posting shut outs in all three of their games and narrowly missed making the provincial championships.
The girls showed their potential in the final againts Dover Bay of Nanaimo, dumping them 3-0.
The team was lead by seniors Rhea Ashmead, Katie St. John, Sarah Rozendal, Heili Tissari, Natasha Sawatzky, Nicole Van Campen and Abbey Lovick.
Junior title too
Stelly’s junior girls soccer team headed to Courtney for the Island Championships.
They went undefeated on day one which put them in the semi-finals where they took out Nanaimo’s Dover Bay secondary 3-0. Stelly’s edged Reynolds 1-0 to capture the Island Champions title.
