Bruce Easson started swimming at age 84. His fellow residents at Sidney’s Rest Haven Lodge saw that Easson, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy, found joy and better health in the activity and wanted to join in.
Now, there are eight or so others who make the weekly trek to Panorama Recreation Centre to take the plunge. It has helped restore mobility for some and in all, gives them a sense of pleasure in activity.
Recently, the group swam with former Canadian Olympic swimmer Rick Say and shared their accomplishments in the pool.
