NORTH SAANICH — Teams from Glen Meadows have set a new curling record, winning both men’s divisions in the Pacific Coast Masters Curling Playdowns held Feb. 3 to 5.

Teams from Duncan, Kerry Park, Victoria, Juan de Fuca, Esquimalt and Glen Meadows (in North Saanich) competed representing the South Vancouver Island at the Esquimalt Curling Centre.

The 60-plus Mens was won by Lawrence Woytowich, Wayne Scott, Paul Addison and George van Wensem.

The 70-plus Mens was won by Lynn Wilson, Jack Bowman, Grant Marshall and Dick Waller.

Never before has one club won both Men’s divisions.

Woytowich said that the Master Curling program is what really attributed to the teams success.

Glen Meadows, he said, offers both a recreational and competitive league which supports curlers at all levels.

The Glen Meadows Masters Association welcomes all Senior Curlers whether they have played before or not. For information contact 250-656-3136.

Both teams will now advance to Provincial Championships, which will be held in Langley March 14 to 18.
