Mark Donnelly expected to sing anthem at Panthers game tonight

Peninsula hockey club down two games in VIHJL playoff finals

Those going to the Panthers game tonight should get there early to get a seat and not miss a momentous ceremony at 7:30.

The Peninsula club faces the Victoria Cougars in Game 3 of the Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League playoff finals tonight. Mark Donnelly is slated to sing the national anthem at Panorama Recreation Centre. Donnelly is well-known for his performances at Rogers Arena opening the Vancouver Canucks home games.

The Panthers go into the game on a bit of a slump after dropping the second game of the series 8-2 last night. The first period ended in a 2-2 tie with Peninsula goals from David Stephens and Tyler Porteous. The Cougars amassed six more goals in the following to frames to win Game 2. The Cougars posted 40 shots on goal to the Panthers 29.
