Athletes between the ages of 11 and 88 competed at the annual Glen Meadows mixed curling bonspiel.

While not making a clean sweep of the tournament, Glen Meadows curlers still cleaned up at the end of the three-day event.

Of 27 teams in the bonspiel, 20 were from Glen Meadows. Other rinks came from Coquitlam, Mill Bay, Juan de Fuca and Victoria.

“We had quite a few families involved, couples, sisters,” said club member Donnamae Wilson.

The youngest curler was Evan Scott-Moncrieff, who is new to the club, playing with the newly formed junior league.

“We had a very good turn out, a very successful Friday night and banquet Saturday night,” said Wilson. “There were lots of prizes donated by local businesses — I’m impressed by the number of local businesses who continue to support us when we go asking year after year.”

The Lynn Wilson rink from Glen Meadows finished first in the A division, topping the Angrove rink from Victoria.

Leading the B division final was the Jason Fletcher team from Glen Meadows, deafeating the Jones team of Coquitlam.

Taking the top of the C division final was the Dave Shortill rink from Mill Bay, stealing the trifecta from Glen Meadows’ August rink.
