Thirteen-year-old Emily Schmidt is at the Pan American Junior Championships in Medellin, Colombia, wrapping up on Monday.
Schmidt, of Saanich, is the only diver from the Boardworks diving club at Saanich Commonwealth Place to join the 24-member junior diving team.
Schmidt will compete in all three disciplines: the springboard, 3m and 10m tower platform. She qualified for the games in July when she won all three diving events for her age group at the 2011 Speedo Junior National Championships in Quebec.
