A Saanich Peninsula resident was recently selected as the recipient of the 2011 Coaches B.C. International Coach of the Year award.
Bill Tschirhart, from North Saanich, currently coaches high-level curling teams at Glen Meadows and also coaches the national senior women’s team. He has also coached medal-winning senior men’s and women’s teams at three World Senior Curling Championships.
Tschirhart was given the award in September.
