Chevrolet announces helmet program

Five-year-olds just starting to play hockey have the chance to get their first helmet for free, thanks to a program sponsored by Chevrolet

Five-year-olds just starting to play hockey have the chance to get their first helmet for free, thanks to a program sponsored by Chevrolet.

Starting Aug. 19, parents of any child born in 2006 that is registered in a Hockey Canada program, can register online to receive a free, new Bauer hockey helmet.

Parents must sign up online to pick up a package from any Chevrolet dealership, which contains a certificate that they can redeem to get the helmet at a designated Forzani retail outlet, including Sport Chek, Hockey Experts, Sport Mart, InterSport and Sports Experts.

“This program gives parents peace of mind while instilling the importance of on-ice safety from the beginning of their child’s sporting involvement,” said Julie Owen, a representative for the program.
