Steven Heywood

Steven Heywood joined the Peninsula News Review in 2012 after nine years as editor at the Parksville Qualicum Beach News, another Black Press publication. Steve has worked for 25 years as a journalist and editor, starting in radio news and continuing his career in community newspapers. His editorial teams have won awards and he has been recognized for his writing and photography. Steve spend nearly four years with the Canadian Forces as a reservist in Vancouver Island and is a basketball official in his spare time.

Wendy Coleman

Wendy Coleman recently joined Peninsula News Review in 2018. Wendy  has an extensive background in Marketing & Sales Management. As part of the Executive Leadership team responsible for opening the DoubleTree Hilton hotel in Victoria, her team won Marketing Launch of the Year with Hilton Hotels. She has a strong understanding of advertising needs in various stages of business. Having been in hospitality industry for most of her career, her customer first approach makes her easy to work with and determine what advertising can help make your good business great.

Hugo Wong

Hugo Wong is a multimedia journalist from Victoria. He spent several years volunteering and working in campus radio and news at the University of Victoria, including a term as editor-in-chief at the Martlet — UVic’s independent campus newspaper. He graduated with a degree in political science in 2017, and has a keen interest in policy and arts stories. He is also a freelance photographer and learning to climb indoors.

Rosemarie Bandura

Rosemarie Bandura joined Black Press Media in 2015, and joined Peninsula News Review in August 2017. Rosemarie made the move to the island 5 years ago, re-locating from Southern Ontario where she has worked over 20 years in the newspaper/ publishing world. She is an avid golfer who also enjoys photography, horseback riding and biking.
