Re: MMA Comes to Mary Winspear (PNR Sept. 21).

Mary Winspear must be turning in her grave at the prospect of martial arts bouts being staged in the cultural centre which bears her name.

Throughout her life, this woman was devoted to sharing the finer things in the minds and hearts of community members. Physical violence had no place amongst them.

Perhaps promoters’ consideration could be given to the currently deserted Sandown stadium as an alternative venue?
