I think the Town of Sidney has the water rates backwards.
We are told to conserve water but in Sidney the opposite is happening.
If you use less than 3,000 gallons, you have to pay for 3,000 gallons anyway. Surely there should be a ceiling and if you use more than that, you should be charged for more usage.
I keep thinking why don’t I just turn on the tap and use my 3,000 gallons — I’m paying for it anyway.
Also, because sewage rates are tied into how much water I use, I have to pay for sewage at the high rate.
This just does not make any sense.
