Re: Teacher appreciation needs re-think (Letters April 18)
As an active member of my children’s elementary school PAC, I felt this year our staff appreciation day was more important than ever. Our school is a community for our family and the teachers that my children spend 6 hours each week day with are important people in their lives. We are very fortunate that at our school the teachers, administrators and PAC are a supportive team, and the children benefit greatly. I volunteer to help whenever I can because I feel it sets a good example for my children. In my opinion, the teachers have taken the only action that they are legally allowed to take and what they are asking for is truly in the best interests of our children. It is up to us parents to speak up on behalf of our team mates.
I do agree that every deserving person should get an appreciation day.
