Regarding the comment All animals deserve respect submitted by Nabhraj Spogliarich (PNR Feb. 18).
I am in total agreement with the writer. We have to elect politicians who have the courage and conviction to protect the wildlife species in Canada.
Trophy hunting must be banned and there must be stricter laws regarding illegal poaching. There are far too many orphaned bear cubs on Vancouver Island.
We have to hold the politicians we elect accountable because their decisions affect our lives, future generations and those of other species.
It will be a very stark and scary world indeed when there are only humans inhabiting the planet but that is the reality if we don’t stop this madness. What will we have to marvel at without the beauty and magnificence of our fellow animal species?
The time to speak out is now before it is too late. Come voting day let our voices be heard
