The Co-op say 7,000 signed their petition in favour of the new store proposal.
They provided no way of registering dissent to the proposal. It must therefore be assumed that the other members “voted” against the proposal by not signing in favour of it — so approximately 43,000 against, 7,000 for; a massive vote against the new store.
