LETTERS: Good MLA attributes

In response to the letter from Robert Jones (Friday April 14, PNR ), comparing the attributes of the four MLA candidates for Saanich North and the Islands, let me state this unequivocally: it matters not whether the candidate is a member of the party that is likely to win the leadership race in B.C. and possibly secure a cabinet position.

In response to the letter from Robert Jones (Friday April 14, PNR), comparing the attributes of the four MLA candidates for Saanich North and the Islands, let me state this unequivocally: it matters not whether the candidate is a member of the party that is likely to win the leadership race in B.C. and possibly secure a cabinet position.

What does matter is whether the candidate will work to represent his constituency in the Legislature and whether the candidate will ask the tough questions that concern the constituency.

Adam Olsen is that candidate. He that will work to represent us, the voters. He knows what the issues are that concern us. He will be our voice in government. As a member of the Green Party of BC, he is not beholden to outside interests, does not have a party line that must be followed. He will work for and represent us, the people of Saanich North and the Islands. That is the attribute needed in a good MLA.
