On Nov. 10 there will be an environmental summit in Sidney. They are striving to improve the planet one backyard at a time.

To help do this the Town of Sidney and its residents need to stop the use of all gas powered landscaping machines. Lawnmowers, edgers, leaf blowers, hedgers etc. spew out huge amounts of pollutants into the air and fresh water, onto the land, and into our ocean. They are also contributors to noise pollution in Sidney.

The Town of Sidney should be setting an example of how to create and maintain gardens without the need to pollute.

M. Thompson
