As proud newcomers to Sidney By The Sea, we have the following observations:
1. Why do residents think it’s okay to park on their front lawns? Our neighbourhood is certainly not downtrodden, but up to eight vehicles can be parked on the grass in front of homes.
2. Why do residents think it’s okay to display their free stuff on the curbsides, thereby degrading the neighbourhoods? There are excellent thrift stores in Sidney. These residents should show a bit of community pride.
3. Why are some of the bus stops adorned with grubby white plastic chairs?
4. Why are there at least 16 dinghies on the Shoal Harbour beach beside a sign that prohibits overnight storage of dinghies?
5. Why are there so many liveaboards in Shoal Harbour (a bird sanctuary) to foul the waters and shorelines?
6. Why are there so many cigarette butts on the sidewalks and streets?
Also, why are so many building variances being approved?
