I have been thinking about the Seaport East area sitting vacant that is leased to Sidney Waterfront Properties (SWP).
Growing up in the Kitchener-Waterloo area of Ontario, I worked with my grandparents at the Kitchener Market for many years. It was a busy, vibrant space for people to come and purchase locally made products. Everything from meats, cheeses, fruits, vegetables, preserves as well as home made fabrics, such as clothing and quilts were sold.
As markets are being re-discovered and appreciated by communities, I am wondering if this space could become available and opened as a local, year round market without much modification.
It seems the perfect setting for those to come and enjoy with parking available outside its doors. It would also bring people in on market days from other communities to enjoy the rest of what Sidney has to offer.
