On Wednesday morning (Sept. 28) a young girl ran across East Saanich Road to catch the 72 bus and was hit by a truck.

She was trying to catch the 72 which leaves Saanichton exchange at 7:11 a.m. Why would someone risk life and limb to catch a bus?  Well, if you don’t make that bus there isn’t another 72 until 7:41 a.m. by which time any connections to other buses, the time people are suppose to be at their desk, doctors appoinments or wherever you are suppose to be have come and gone.

What is it going to take to get BC Transit to step up and provide adequate service for Central Saanich commuters?
