Tony Kipot

August 1, 1937 - September 18, 2018
Tony passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, on September 18, 2018. He was born on August 1, 1937 in Nikolski, Ukraine. Tony was predeceased by his wife Shirley in 2006, his parents Stephen and Rosa Kipot, and his sister in law, Linda Kipot.

He will be deeply missed by his companion Alannah Corby; his step-children, Colleen (Tim), Terry, Jack (Linda), Don (Connie) and Barb (Andrew); grandchildren; brothers Michael, Victor (Rita) and sister Eroica (Duncan); family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Antonsen and Dr. Swiggum for their care of Tony.

Tony immigrated to Canada in 1951 with his parents and siblings, arriving by boat in Halifax, NS; then a train across Canada before settling in Chauvin, AB. Tony worked in the oilfields across Canada and overseas. He settled in Sidney, BC where he, Mike and Vic formed Kipot Construction Ltd. He married Shirley, who had 5 children, in 1987. Tony was an avid golfer, enjoying his retirement with his golfing friends and family.

A Celebration of Tony's Life will be held Friday, October 19, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth's Church, 10030 Third Street, Sidney, BC with the Rev. Thomas Chinnappa officiating. A reception will follow.

His family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Tony's memory to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit (www.sphf.ca). Condolences to the family may be offered at www.mccallgardens.com.
