May 26, 1926 - Nov 20, 2017
After a long and full life, Ronald Walter Bickford of Brentwood Bay, BC has left this world. Born May 26, 1926 in Saanichton, BC, he was the eldest child of George and Violet Bickford (Parnham).

As a young man, Ronald set out to work for CP in Vancouver, where he trained as a machinist. This skill took him all over the province, including Revelstoke, BC, where he met Agnes Lorraine Camozzi, whom he married in 1949. During their 50 years of marriage they lived throughout mainland BC, wherever Ronald's work took him, before returning to the Saanich Penninsula to settle down and raise their five children.

Ronald is remembered as a hardworking man with a love for farming, cattle and the large and close family he headed. He also enjoyed traveling, and treated his family with milestone trips, creating many memories with his generosity - none of his grandkids will forget him boogying under the strobe lights at the discoteca in Mexico!

At the end, he lived and died as he wished in Saanichton, while residing at Legion Manor, where he chose to spend his last years in a suite overlooking farmland, and where he continued to enjoy Wednesday night dinners with his grandchildren, who for the last 18 years have ensured his life as a widower was not lonely. His stories, lessons and (often inappropriate) opinions and jokes were a precious part of their lives and will be missed and fondly cherished.

Predeceased by his wife, Agnes Lorraine Bickford (Camozzi). Survived by: his sister Joy (Sharon, Betsy, Susan) and brother, Bill (Heather: Sharlene, Gary); by his children: David (Mary), Ron G (Debra), June (Ken), Bob (Wanita), and Donna (Ronnie); and by his beloved grandchildren: Rebecca, Niki, Suzi, Lauren, Carly, Cortnee, Leah, Michael, Mallory, Evan and Justine.

Also, survived by his great-grandchildren: Leila, Sophie, Eli, Oscar, Manon, Esmee, Kohen, Harper, Chloe, Rowan and Silas.

His family will miss him dearly and thanks him, most of all, for each other.
