It is with great sadness that the family of Petrus Antonius Maria Hendrix announces his unexpected passing on February 25, 2017, surrounded by those he loved. Born in Delft, the Netherlands on June 7, 1961, Peter leaves behind his loving wife of 16 years Trudy, children Courtney (23), Danny (19, Veendam, the Netherlands), Devon (18), Claire (9), Layla (8), and sister Marie-Christine (Delft, the Netherlands). He was predeceased by his mother and father, Clara and Toin (Delft, the Netherlands). Peter moved to Canada in 2001 to join his sweetheart Trudy and they lived most of their life in Brentwood Bay. He was a valued RBC employee for all of his years in Canada, and very active and loved in our church where he was the worship leader. Loving husband, father, brother, mentor, friend, colleague, guitar player, musician, singer and bourgondier, Peter loved the Lord and has now achieved the ultimate goal of everlasting life with Him. He is no longer tuning his instrument but sings in perfect harmony around the throne. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers in the Palliative Care Unit at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital for taking such wonderful care of us for the past month. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at Peninsula Mission Community Church, 9300 Willingdon Rd, North Saanich on Sunday March 12th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peter’s memory may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
