Marjorie Evett

October 20, 2015

Marjorie Fairbairn Evett passed away peacefully at home on October 20, 2015 at the age of 84 years. She was born on March 3, 1931 in Estevan, Saskatchewan. Marjorie was a loving, devoted mother to sons Peter and Timothy Hodge. As a young woman Marjorie set out to travel the world. She was adventurous, talented, energetic and industrious, always finding work and friends along the way. Her journey included South Africa, England and Denmark. Marjorie settled in Toronto to raise her young boys. Unfailingly loyal, her sparkling, bright, caring, personality shone through in her home and work. Her wit and generousity were greatly appreciated by family, friends, and coworkers at The Ontario Educational Communications Authority (TVO) where she dedicated many years of service. She was an avid gardener and a brilliant, artistic craftswoman. Her outstanding tapestries recount her travels; her exceptional orchid collection gave her much joy. In retirement, Marjorie continued her travels, ending in Sidney, BC. She is survived by her sons Peter (Martha) Tim (Jey), sister Mary Lou, grandchildren Pearson, Justin and Emma. Beloved Oma to her grandchildren, they will always appreciate her sharp wit, sense of humour and loving ways. They have fond memories of her truthful manner, kind generous heart and playful sassy personality. At Marjorie’s request, her urn will be placed in a niche at Hatley Memorial Garden.

Please no flowers. If friends or family desire, memorial donations are gratefully accepted to www.plancanada.ca to help sponsor a child in need.
