In Loving Memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother at the age of 93. We are so grateful Elizabeth is now with Jesus and has been reunited with her husband Geoff, her daughter Jocelyn, her son-in-law Eric and her granddaughter Rebekah.
She is survived by her children Kathryn (Tony), Stephen (Sue), Hilary (Steve), her 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Also missing her are her brother Harry (Claudine) and her ‘sister’ Gillian (Stuart).
In keeping with a spirit of adventure, Elizabeth and Geoff, newly married, immigrated to Canada from the UK in 1954, and settled in Meadow Lake, Sask. In 1969 they moved with their 4 children to Sidney, BC, and Elizabeth began teaching at Norfolk House girls school. She loved teaching children & did so until retirement. To the very end she still corrected everyone on their grammar! And her sayings were legendary!
Our mum loved the sun, read voraciously, loved the theatre, enjoyed playing games (caught cheating a few times), took great pride in her garden, & was devoted to her church.
She and Dad loved to travel & circled the globe. She had a close group of friends & partied and danced on many occasions.
Mum lived life to the fullest and taught us that we could do anything that we put our minds to. She has left an incredible legacy and we will miss her so very much.
We will celebrate her remarkable life on Saturday, November 26th at 2:00 pm at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Sidney, BC.
