March 26, 1941 - January 4, 2019
We say goodbye to Lew, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and cheerful friend to many. On Friday, his heart gave out suddenly. He is survived by wife Helen, sons Jeff (Kate), Gord (Jeannie), Ken (Nicole), and six grandchildren. Uncle Lew was loved by many nieces and nephews.

Lew was born in Holland, MB, and moved to Vancouver as a child. He married Helen Jeffrey in 1964, and in 1967, they settled on Vancouver Island to raise their family. Sidney became his home running small businesses (Sidney Taxi and Peninsula Printers), and then 20 years as Bindery Foreman at Manning Press. He was involved in his community through Kinsmen, and was always quick with a "Can I help?".

He loved time in his home sound studio FM77, many crib games with Lloyd and Sid, and connecting with neighbours and friends for coffee or drinks.

We will celebrate Lew's life on January 12 at 1:30 pm at Central Saanich United Church (formerly Shady Creek UC) 7180 East Saanich Rd. Reception to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, Lew has asked for donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
