Maryjo Leonard (nee Daly) passed away peacefully on June 08, 2015, at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital in the company of her daughter Peggy. She was predeceased by her husband James, and is survived by her son Greg (Brenda), daughter Peggy (Doug), grandchildren Alan, Matthew, Karaline, and Katelyn, as well as 5 great grandchildren, Lauryn, Aria, Rebecca, Mila, and Adam.
She was born and raised in County Cork, Ireland and was the oldest of 7 children. She emigrated to Canada in the early 1950's and met her future husband James. They settled in Montreal and proceeded to raise their family there. Upon the birth of her 1st grandchild they moved to Sidney to be closer to their family. Maryjo was a staunch supporter of her faith and church, as well as the Catholic Women's league, and the Knights of Columbus.
A Celebration of life mass will be celebrated Monday June 15, 2015 at St Elizabeth's Parish in Sidney at 11:00 am.
