John George Smith Mackay, known as Jack to all who knew him, of Sidney, B.C. quietly passed away on July 21, 2019 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 84 in the same manner as he lived his life; with grace and dignity.

Jack immigrated to Canada with his family in 1979. He and Rhuna lived in Deep Cove for 40 years. Jack attended the Royal High School of Edinburgh and subsequent to graduation obtained his Institute of Chartered Bankers of Scotland qualifications. His banking career took him and his family around the world including living in London, Milan, Rome, Frankfurt, Chicago and Victoria, B.C.
Subsequent to his career in banking he developed his true passion and calling as an artist and pianist.
