April 2, 1947 - February 1, 2019
Elsie was born and raised on a farm in Delia, Alberta by Ivan and Mary Long. Elsie passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends. She was a loving wife to Brian for 51 years. Elsie leaves her son, Richard (Kristina), daughter Jenifer (Dana), and granddaughters Breanna & Sage. She will be missed by her sisters Kay Richards (Doug) and Patty Blocksom (Terry), her brother Ken Long, sister-in-law Jeanette Rougeau and many loved cousins, nieces, and nephews. Predeceased by her brother Jim Long (Mickie).

As her kids were growing up, she was a dedicated parent, volunteer at their schools, hockey, and lacrosse. Elsie spent many years working at Sidney's True Value Hardware Store, always with a smile and a helping hand. Elsie had a heart of gold, loved us fiercely and always gave the BEST hugs, especially to her granddaughters.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring, a date to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Elsie's memory to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit (www.sphf.ca).
