It is with sad hearts that the family announces the passing of Cyril (Cy) Turner at the Pallative Care Unit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital on December 29th. 2018, at the age of 92 years. He was born in Derby, Derbyshire, England and grew up in a family of nine children.

Cy joined the British Army in World War II and was a Lance Corporal with the East Yorkshire Regiment, 2nd Battalion. He served in North West Europe and many other countries, and was engaged in the final battle-"The Battle of the Bulge". He also served in Palestine and Egypt. After the war, Cy became a Carpenter by trade. Cy enjoyed dancing, painting and playing golf. He belonged to Sooke, Cowichan and Ardmore Golf Clubs.

Cy is survived by one brother Allan (Anne) nephews, and nieces in England. Cy will be sadly missed by his wife and dancing partner of more than 23 years. His sons Ian (Alison) and Andy (Lisa), step-children Tracy Harrison, (Carl) and Todd Phillips (Sherry) will miss his sense of humour and smiling face. Cy has many grandchildren and great grandchildren who will miss their Granddad. Many thanks to staff of Hospice, Pallative Care Unit at the Saanich Penninsula Hospital, and staff of Broadmead Health Centre for their excellent care.

No service at Cy's request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation.

A private Memorial dinner will be held by the family.
