With the closure of Capital Iron, Victoria family business Lumberworld has added a specialty barbecue section to its Quadra Street location.

They’ve even hired some of the experts who formerly worked at Capital Iron, the company said.

“We wanted to bring new life into our company and add to what we offer our customers,” said Frank Clarke, operation manager at Lumberworld. “Living in a location where we can barbecue 12 months of the year, we wanted to ensure Victorians had a place to continue to shop for specialty items with experts to help.”

Mark Bradley and Mark Besner, the so-called Grill Marks, made their way from their long-term tenures at Capital Iron to Lumberworld and set up a new department.

The duo worked for Capital Iron for a combined 10 years, the company said, and they are now offering charcoal, gas, wood pellet and self-feeding pellet barbecue options and are sharing their wealth of knowledge on all things grilling.

“We pride ourselves on a white glove service for our barbecue customers which means we assemble, test and deliver the new barbeque right to your door and most importantly recycle your old one,” said Clarke. “We want to make it easy for people to get exactly what they need and want.”

The section also includes a focus on outdoor pizza ovens, a growing trend.
