UPDATE: Missing Saanichton man located

'Disoriented' man spotted this morning in Rock Bay

Missing Saanichton man, Andrew “Drew” Garcia, who was last  seen in Victoria early on the morning of July 8 has been located.

 

Central Saanich Police Service is seeking public assistance in locating a missing Saanichton man who was last seen the afternoon of July 6, possibly walking away from his abandoned vehicle in Saanich.

Central Saanich Police Service received witness information that missing Saanichton resident, Andrew “Drew” Garcia,  was seen in the Victoria area early this morning (July 8).  According to the witness, Garcia was walking on Bridge Street in the Rock Bay area at 6:45 a.m. and appeared disheveled and disoriented.

Central Saanich Police continue to seek the public assistance in locating Garcia  who was previously seen Wednesday, July 6 when he left work in Esquimalt at 3:30 p.m. At 4:15, Saanich Police received a report that the man's 2010 Grey Hyundai Accent had swerved off the road in the 3600 block of Tillicum Road and struck an embankment. A witness reported seeing the male driver, apparently uninjured, grab a bag from the trunk and walk northbound on Tillicum Road. Police are unable to confirm at this time if it was Garcia seen walking away from the vehicle. Garcia did not arrive home to Saanichton and was reported missing to Central Saanich Police yesterday (July 7).

Garcia is described as a caucasian man, six-foot-three-inches tall, 230 pounds with a stocky build, dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing dark running shoes, dark Seaspan polo shirt and khaki pants.
